Would A 'Jeffersons' Spinoff With Florence Johnston Worked A Lot Better If...
....She was still a maid and just went to work for another family? Or was Marla Gibbs not strong enough to carry her own show?

If she was still a maid then it would have no reason for the spinoff-lol I'm just surprised that there wasn't a guest appearance by George atleast in the first episode
The only way this show would lasted is to be sandwiched between the Jeffersons and Alice on Sunday Night, Not on Thursdays following another NEW SHOW called Parkway Place-lol |

I don't think Florence was a strong enough character to carry her own show, period. She was always at her best sparring with George!

It may have worked if she had a better supporting cast along with someone who could have been like George. She was strong enough to carry a show look how well she did with 227.
