It hadn’t been definitely confirmed until now: Anne Hathaway is not just Selina Kyle in The Dark Knight Rises. She’ll be Catwoman, too…

It might strike you as an odd headline up there, but consider this. When the announcement was made that Anne Hathaway had been cast in The Dark Knight Rises, the official release confirmed that she would be playing Selina Kyle.

Not unreasonably, many of us filled in the blank there, and concluded that playing Selina Kyle meant playing Catwoman as well. Yet, at no point had it been confirmed that Hathaway would turn into Catwoman in the movie.

Only it's been confirmed now.

Hathaway herself cleared up any doubt on The Oprah Winfrey Show in the States. Talking about the moment when she heard that she'd been asked to host the Oscars, she told Winfrey that she was waiting to hear if she'd been cast as Catwoman at the time. Not Selina Kyle. Catwoman.

Let any doubt be put to rest. And let the countdown to the July 2012 release of The Dark Knight Rises continue...

I love Anne Hathaway and think she'll be a good Catwoman.
