Exclamation Remember Mrs. Haney??

Yes,Mr.Haney DID have a wife, but they were,no doubt, divorced .In some first season episodes he mentioned her,but in any of the second through sixth season was she mentioned at all?

There's no reason to speculate that Haney was divorced. He does mention "my wife" early on, but this is a rare error and later in the series he's clearly a bachelor (right along with Joe Carson, Sam Drucker, and Eb). It's almost certainly a continuity error.

Had he been divorced, the writers would have probably done something as far as bringing on an actress to play the "ex-wife" at least once...!

Honestly, they probably mentioned her earlier and just realized that they had no atcual use to create her as an actual character. Either that or like biffbronson said, probably just an error.

He made several references to her throughout the first season, and maybe once or twice in the second/third seasons.
I know for sure he mentioned her in the fourth season episode "Economy Flight to Washington" when talking about Haney's Farm-Minding Service when the Douglases were away. ("Me and my wife will move into your home, eat your food, etc.") This was late in season 4.
In the season 5 opener, when Lisa's mother is visiting, I believe that's the first time he says he is a proud bachelor, so we can assume something happened (divorce) between years 4 and 5.
It would have been nice to see his ex-wife on screen though!

I know. What would Mr. Haney's wife be like, and look like ? Is there an actress that we can think of from back than who would have been the perfect person to play Mrs. Haney?

I'm thinking maybe Peggy Rea? A big girl for Mr. Haney! She was Rose on the Waltons!

She was also Boss Hogg's wife. (And she has a small part in that horror movie I keep telling you about with John Putch: Curfew)

Yeah. That is why I'm thinking she would make a great Mrs.Haney and Hooterville citizen! She plays a Southern , country woman well!

I'd really like to check out that Curfew movie! I like John and Peggy and horror movies!

In tonight's episode Mrs. Haney is mentioned by Eb (an episode about the anniversary of Oliver and Lisa), I'm not sure of the year, many still first season or second.

Eb: Mr Haney used to keep his marriage license in a frame on the wall.
Oliver: Oh, that's nice.
Eb: He used to throw darts at it ![/QUOTE]

No photo, but Haney was definitely married at one point.
