For some reason I feel like I saw this case on Unsolved Mysteries, however, I could be confusing it with a similar case. At any rate, if this wasn't a segment on UM, it darn well could have been.
Genene Jones may have killed anywhere from 11 to 47 babies during her time as a nurse in Texas. In an effort to "play god," she injected infants with poison and later tried to revive them to elicit praise and be recognized as a hero. Good Ol' "Texas Justice" for ya...They give a mentally disabled man the death penalty but this piece of trash gets released... Below is the article with the update http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/0..._n_828023.html |

I don't believe it was on UM (doesn't seem like much of a mystery). She was already in prison before the first episode of UM aired.
BTW, I don't intend to start a debate about the death penalty (I know many people on this board have different opinions), I just want to say that I was born and raised in Texas and I am opposed to the death penalty. I wanted to make this point because, living in the Midwest for the past 10 years, I have been confronted over and over again by the stereotype that all Texans are blood-thirsty pro-death penalty barbarians. Texas has A LOT wrong with its justice system, but I just wanted to say Texans don't all think the same way....the same is true for anywhere else. |
