Has CBS finally had enough of Charlie Sheen's wildman ways? You bet they have, and now sources tell me the network is having internal discussions to ponder if his mega-hit show 'Two and a Half Men' can possibly survive without him.
"CBS stock has been taking a beating during Charlie's recent meltdown," a TV insider tells me. "Charlie has become too big a risk to not have a backup plan in case he has another incident and forces production to be shut down." "The big question is can the show survive without Charlie," an insider tells me. "Would the show take a big hit? Yes, but if they found the right person to replace him it would survive and maybe even grow." CBS declined to comment for this story. What do you think? Would you watch the show without Charlie? http://www.popeater.com/2011/02/23/t...charlie-sheen/

Two and a Half Men would die without Charlie Sheen. The point of the show is Alan and Jake living with Charlie, hence Two and a Half Men. The Alan storylines on the show are boring, so if CBS cuts Sheen, they'll cut half of the viewers too.

History reveals that doing such a thing usually doesn't work. Anyone remember The Sanford Arms? Last season of Chico And The Man?
The show's had a long enough run. Cancel it and move on if Sheen doesn't return. |

I, for one, wouldn't shed any tears if the show just ended. I do feel bad for the crew, because they don't get paid nearly as much as actors, producers, etc. It's all Charlie Sheen's fault that their livelihood is on the line.

They've just announced that the rest of the season is cancelled due to a crazy rant Sheen just did on a radio show, where he castigated the show's creator, Chuck Lorre.
I would say the show's future is looking dicey. This leaves the show with eight episodes short of the 24 they were supposed to deliver. Maybe it's time to pack it up. |

Maybe they could do a spinoff show with Jon Cryer or something. I think keeping the show as it is but without Sheen would be a mistake.

A spinoff show would be more plausible. Cryer's character could marry Lyndsey (Courtney Thorne-Smith) or go back to Candi, the wonderfully ditzy girl he was married briefly to.

I'd just have Charlie Sheen's brother Emilio Estevez take over the role of Charlie, a-la "Bewitched" when they replaced Dick York for Dick Sargent.

I wish this show would just end so we could stop hearing about Charlie Sheen once and for all. Perhaps then he could get the treatment he needs.

Besides, the way Charlie keeps sticking his foot in his mouth regarding both the creator/exec producer of the show AND the president of CBS - I won't be surprised if they just cut their losses and fire him altogether. Case in point:
