Can someone check their DVD's for this episode?
All sources, including interviews with Jerry have said Hugh wrote the story AND directed this episode. I remember that the DVD said he wrote the story, but I think another director actually did this episode. Can someone verify please? Thanks in advance! Some trivia that I do know about this episode. The production crew had a terrible time trying to get the horse to lie down. They brought in an animal wrangler to give it shots of sedative gas. Several minutes later, "Nick" rammed himself into the garage wall set and knocked it down! (According to what Jerry remembers.) He went into the living room and knocked over stuff in there too! The horse also farted a lot of the sleeping gas!!! LOL! and supposedly Barbara was real embarrassed, but everyone else was laughing!!! I think they eventually brought in a Vet to get the horse to lay down, or gave him a final shot of the gas. It was the last scene to film that day, and LA Child Labor Laws, said that kids could only work no later than a certain time. Jerry and Tony had to go home, when they were still trying to get Nick to lay down! So they brought in stand-in's for the shot. While Jerry admits that his memory is faded on many episodes. (He no longer makes a point to watch them because he believes he could have done even better, and in an interview he said, "I can't turn back time.") But he does remember that the producers had to bring in stand in's for Tony and he during the scenes when Nick is lying down! His stand-in was involved as one of the Munchkins in a production of The Wizard of Oz. Jerry claims that the stand-in for him had smaller feet than he did and if you look at any shots where Nick is lying down, that's not Jerry or Tony in those shots! If you look at his stand-in's shows, he's wearing little Munchkin feet!!!" hahahaha!!!! Some stuff to check out for sure!!!!! Jack |

According to the booklet that came with the DVD's this episode was directed by Norman Tokar.
