Eric Snow, Sixers Broadcaster, Struggles To Stay Awake During Sixers-Rockets Game (VIDEO)

Even though the Philadelphia 76ers were beating the Houston Rockets 50-45 in the second quarter on Wednesday night, local Sixers broadcaster Eric Snow couldn't stay awake.

"You meditating?" asked Snows Comcast Sportsnet partner Marc Zumoff.

"I thought I was... trying to stay awoke," Snow replied, as Houston's Brad Miller was at the free throw line.

The former Philadelphia point guard then tried to explain how he needs a "burst of energy" and attempted to relate it to the game. The Sixers went on to win 114-105.

In Eric Snow's defense NBA basketball isn't nearly as exciting as it used to be. No was falling asleep in the 80's when Magic Johnson was leading those great showtime Lakers team and Larry Bird was starring for the Boston Celtics. But in the years since the level of play and the corresponding excitement has declined. Some NBA games these days have a lot in common with a sleeping pill!!

I can relate! I have those days at work quite frequently! That's what happens when you are a night owl and have a day job! But I agree with Marv. Basketball puts me to sleep too! You'd think that a game as non-stop as basketball would be exciting, but it's just back and forth, back and forth....

Both of you make good points, but in any other line of work, sleeping on the job can get you into DEEP trouble. Only in sports or show biz could you get away with it. I'm surprised our Cavs' announcers haven't fallen asleep during games - YET.

Speaking of being surprised, I'm shocked that Sol hasn't chimed in here yet. Where is he?
