Default Who all played 2 different parts on Golden Girls

Harold Gould showed up first as Arnie Peterson in "Rose the Prude" in 1985. Then in 1989 in the episode "Dancing in the Dark" he returns as Miles Webber and appears in 13 or so episodes. Who else did this if any?

Bea Arthur also played two characters on the show. She played Dorothy and in the episode "Mother's Day" she plays her own grandmother

Default Sid Melton...

played Sal and also appeared in as the jester (or whatever) in "What a Difference a Date Makes" (with Hal Linden). he also appeared in a handful of "Empty Nest" episodes, but never as Sal.

Also- Meg Wyllie (Myra in "There Goes the Bride," appeared in four other episodes- as Jerry Kennedy's mother; one of Sophia's pals; and the stewardess in the episode where the girls face their fears on the plane.

There probably are others.

Paul Dooley was another one. He played Isaac Q. Newton in 1986 episode "Love Rose." Then in 1987 he played George Corliss on the "Empty Nests" episode.

I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed that a few people played different guest spots over the years.

On the top of my head:

In the Season 2 Christmas episode when the girls end up in a diner at the end, the man serving them appears in the Season 4 Lottery Ticket episode bunking beside Rose.

Mrs. Claxton from Season 2 appears in Season 4 as the mother who thinks Dorothy may be her daughter.

The boxer that Sophia buys in Season 4 appears in a few episodes in Season 5 when Rose gets a job testing new products.

The actor who the girls fight over in Season 2 appears in a flackback episode from Season 4 when he gives the girls very bad perms.

The chinese doctor who diagnoses Dorothy with Chronic Fatigue in Season 5 appears in Season 7 when Dorothy gets some new job. In that same Season 7episodes, was an actor from the Season 2 Vacation episode.

Default Yes...

those are some good ones, Dianne. I never realized that the actress who played Mrs. Klaxton was the mother of Filomena (however it's spelled). Must have been the accent.

The psychiatrist from Season 2 that Blanche sees when she is going through menopause also played a pshychiatrist in Season 3 in the flashback episode where the girls don't get along.

The actor who played Philomena's father also played the role of the wheel-chair bound man who helped the Girls turn their garage into an extra-room, which didn't work out so well...

Bill Dana played Sophia's brother, Angelo and also played her father in the flashback scene where Sophia and Salvadore's car breaks down.

The actor who played Blanche's husband George in flashbacks, also played her brother-in-law Jaime.

Geraldine Page played Sophia's friend who wanted to end her life, and also played the woman at the train station bound for St. Olaf, who Rose pretended to be her daughter.

The actress who played Lillian, who Sophia rescued from the nursing home, was the same woman who Sophia gave the cart of flowers and balloons to when she was a volunteer at the hospital.

Another thing that struck me funny about Arnie/Miles --

In both the 1989 "Dancing in the Dark" and 1985s "Rose The Prude" from Season 1, there is the same Glen Miller song playing -- over the radio in S1 and in the ballroom when they are dancing at the end in Season 5.

Except for Estelle playing a younger Sophia in flashback scenes, She, Betty or Rue never played different characters. Only Bea, as her 96-year-old grandmother.

Ralph Ahn played Mr. Yakamora in "We're Out of Here" (he was the Asian man who offered to buy the house from Blanche) and he played Jim Shu in "Yes, We Have No Havanas" the episode where Dorothy was teaching the history class for adults.
