I'm not overly fond of The Pigeon. Especially that whole scene with the fake spider, it goes on way too long.

I'm with you on the fake spider. The whole spider sequence seems tacked on to the episode, as though they'd run out of ideas too early. Still, any episode with one of Gilligan's animal friends wins my vote. (I'm talking about Walter here, not the spider!)

The episodes that I can't stand involve the castaways acting out of character. President Gilligan is the worst offender. I could understand the Howells and Ginger goldbricking, but the Skipper, the Professor and Mary Ann are far too practical to be neglecting vital responsibilities like finding a new water supply or working on a rescue plan. The castaways' rudeness during Gilligan's dinner speech is astonishing, involving "even Mary Ann". And finally, it makes no sense in the first place that Gilligan should vote for himself and so land himself with this position. How does he reconcile, "I was on your side, Skipper!" to voting for himself?

Gilligan Goes Gung Ho is an episode I find very hard to swallow, with Gilligan actually yelling at the women and grabbing Ginger's arm in anger. I had to write two fanfics to try to explain Gilligan's actions here.

The episode, Not Guilty, is fascinating as a rare look into the castaways' lives before the shipwreck, but I find the idea of Gilligan as the leader of the witch-hunt very hard to reconcile with the same character who wrote so lovingly of his friends in his diary.

That spider barely qualifies as an animal. Janos Prohaska in a spider suit would have been awesome though.
Walter does a poop when he's on the treadmill. Yes, I do have too much time on my hands.

How can Gilligan vote for himself anyway? He wasn't even a candidate, so his name shouldn't even have been on the ballot paper! What I did like about this ep is that it shows that only Gilligan is concerned about digging the well and keeping the place in order, and if things were left to everyone else, they'd all quickly argue/starve/dehydrate/sulk/be too lazy to survive and die. It's a pretty political episode altogether so I wonder if it was trying to mirror anything that was going on in real life at the time? *shrugs*

Yes, and one of them has Spy!Gilligan in it! Yay! "will you shut up about Spy!Gilligan already" says callensensei.
I love Strutting!Gilligan and his rulebook. And the Dusty version is just as funny. "Hiya Sheriff! Want a drink?" "No thanks." "It's on the house." "I don't care where it is! I'm on duty!"

I'll have to watch this one again because I don't remember it...

When I first saw Smile, You're On Mars Camera I didn't like it much, but it warants second viewing because I felt the same way about the one with the mine, and on second viewing it was funnier.

The episode where Rory Calhoun hunts for a human being and Gilligan is his prey is my least favorite episode, black and white or color.
