I didn't see any other mention of this, but there were several updates to the David L. McLeod case. He was Warren Beatty's cousin, and associate producer on the films Reds and Ishtar, and producer on The Pick-Up Artist. He had been arrested in 1989 for molesting underage boys in the Bronx and Queens, many of which he paid for. Right before his sentence hearing was to begin, he told his attorney he was going to make a phone call, and he vanished.
Apparently, he was convicted in absentia in 1993 on six child molestation charges, but was never found alive. On December 6th, 1998, his body was found on an expressway overpass in Montreal. He had died of a heart attack. Here's some info on the wiki: http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/David_McLeod His IMDB page: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0500156/ |

Has Beatty ever publicly commented on MacLeod's death??
I read a biography on Beatty and it appears the two of them were very close and MacLeod was jokingly referred to as Beatty's right hand man. It just seems strange that he didn't try to make contact with Beatty or maybe he did but Beatty can't mention that because MacLeod was wanted by the FBI. Macleod's entire career as a Hollywood producer (with the exception of The Pick Up Artist) were all on Warren Beatty movies so Beatty obviously pulled some strings for his cousin Apparantly when MacLeod was arrested Beatty had no idea that his cousin had homosexual tendencies let alone pedophilia ones. Also Beatty's uncle (and David's father) AA MacLeod was a famous canadian politician who was a member of the Canadian Communist Party and Beatty said he was an influence on him politically. |

Re-watched one of my favorite Hitchhiker episodes yesterday and saw a David Macleod listed as a producer. Went to imdb to see if it was him, but it was a different one. Apparently there are several producers with that name. Weird.
This sort of reminds me, I have long heard about Corey Feldman making mentions of him and his good friend Corey Haim being sexually abused when they were child actors by Hollywood producers, and that he said Hollywood was rampant with pedophilia, but never went into much detail about it. i would do google searches every now and then, but no new info would ever surface. That is, until recently, I just learned his book came out several months ago, which I was unaware of. Found an article, which had a few excerpts from his book, called "Coreyography", and went into detail. I about threw up in my mouth. Poor Corey Haim, I'm willing to bet that's what drove him to do all those drugs that took his life at a young age. Sad. What's also sad is that one of the monsters goes unnamed, and Feldman says he'll continue to get away with it because he's a big name in the business, and that he fears if he names him, he and/or his family will be met with retaliation. |
