During the ABC network run, there were 2-BOTH took place in the new house/Universal City Studios years, and dealt openly and tastefully with subjects that had NEVER been discussed on TV before on comedy series(this was late 1950's and early 1960's).Name the episodes and the subjects. No prizes.Just for fun.

I'll take a stab. There was one about divorce (Chopper) and one about alcoholism (Andy).

I think you might also consider the "Beaver and Chuey" episode that aired on October 23, 1958 - the second season of the show and the first season on the ABC-TV Network. I think many know what takes place, but in a brief explanation, it shows how a friendship is possible despite language differences. A cruel joke by one person can threaten that until reason and understanding prevail.

I would say them showing part of a toilet in "Captain Jack" to be pretty groundbreaking, not to mention having Beaver and Larry experimenting with smoking in "The Pipe".
