"Castle" Does Daytime

Nobody can ever accuse Nathan Fillion of disparaging his soap roots as Joey on "One Life to Live". He not only returned to the soap after enjoying prime-time success, but he has welcomed many soap stars to his current hit, "Castle".

Now, "Castle" is doing an episode that's an homage to daytime called 'One Life to Lose.'

TVLine reports that in the show, Fillion's Castle and cop partner Beckett investigate the homicide of a soap opera writer. "As they work the case, watch for multiple stars from ABC's own sudsers to make appearances."

The stars won't be playing themselves, but fictional versions of actors on the fictional soap. The soap episode of "Castle" is slated for March 21.

Now that sounds awesome. I too applaud Nathan Fillion for always embracing his soap roots and not forgetting where he came from.

Keck's Exclusives: "Castle" Casts Soap Stars For "One Life to Lose"

The episode, which will air this spring, involves a murder on the set of a fictional daytime drama called Temptations.

Just cast are "All My Children" favorites Cameron Mathison and Rebecca Budig, as well as "L.A. Law" veteran Corbin Bernsen, who has been popping up as a priest on "The Young and the Restless" for several years.

Corbin will play Lance Buchanan (an obvious send-up of Nathan's "One Life to Live" character, Joey Buchanan), Temptations' handsome and dashing lead actor who has the reputation as a ladies' man.

Cameron plays a character named Vince Bowers.

Rebecca will appear as Mandy Bronson who is a Temptations fan that blogs about her intense dissatisfaction with the soap's storylines.

The lovely Jane Seymour has been added to the cast of "Castle's" upcoming episode set in the world of a fictional daytime soap opera.

Jane will play the elegant Gloria Chambers and joins a growing guest cast that includes "All My Children" favorites Cameron Mathison and Rebecca Budig and "The Young and the Restless'" Corbin Bernsen.
