I'm a huge fan of the KOQ, but....was the king of queens a honeymooners rip off? Could that be the reason why this show never won any Enmys?

Absolutley not! The KOQ was brilliant and unique in every way, & stood alone from other sitcoms with its brilliant writing, great casting, and overall performance. What made the show great was that it took everyday concepts from REAL PEOPLE'S lives & made great comedy. I think it wasn't celebrated like Everybody Loves Raymond because it didn't rely on already established comedy stars to reel in ratings or critics. Not taking away from Raymond, because that show is so good, but I just think by not casting veteran actors, aside from the awesome Jerry Stiller, it gave the show the familiarity with everyday Joe's. Frankly, I could care less about it not winning any Emmy's, & apparently it didn't phaze the cast one bit. The KOQ remains to this day, through dvd's & syndication, to do what its ALWAYS done- make millions laugh!
