Is Frasier leaving all locals at the end of March or just some?

I believe it is leaving all, but I'll check on that. Also, Seinfeld is moving back to Tribune in March in the major markets (from Fox).

Pavan, where will Seinfeld be airing in Chicago, since now it's on WPWR/WFLD? Or will it stay on those stations in March?

I'm guessing this has to do with making room for newer acquisitions in the fall such as The Big Bang Theory, and in 2013, Modern Family? Well, it'll be nice to see Seinfeld on PIX11 here in NY. Guaranteed to be paired with Curb Your Enthusiasm! I believe the last time it was on tribune networks, the CW wasn't in existence yet, correct?

I don't understand syndication at all....why would a show like Frasier be leaving local syndication when older shows like The Cosby Show and Roseanne are still carried on tons of affiliates?

Heck, even I Love Lucy and Andy Griffith are in local syndication.

Frasier is still on the main syndication package. Meaning it is mostly everywhere. Cosby Show and Roseanne are not everywhere locally. Their main runs ended a while ago (and even that Carsey-Werner package from a few years ago wasn't a main package). Seinfeld is entering its fourth main syndication cycle. Most shows don't last this long in main syndication. I'm not sure if Chicago will be moving it to Tribune, but I know WPIX in NY is getting Seinfeld back after about 10 years.

I think I understand now. So, say...Frasier (or a show like) will still be offered but will not be widespread anymore like it is now since it is likely ending its main run?

I like finding shows on locals that you don't see everywhere. One of mine carries The Andy Griffith Show and has for years, it must still do well and of course is not seen on many locals that I'm aware of.

Depends on if the stations wants it I guess. Some shows disappear forever. Some have to do with the crazy fees after the main run.

Seinfeld leaves Fox O&O WFXT/Boston for CBS-owned independent WSBK (TV38) in March.

This is great news! Seinfeld on WSBK and WPIX! Hopefully timeslots are good because FOX has been airing it at 2AM weeknights.

Pavan, will you be posting a new WPIX schedule for March anytime soon?
