Default Game show hosts - Veterans vs. the new guys

And by Veterans,I mean 1) guys like Alex Trebek,Pat Sajak,Bob Barker,Tom Kennedy,Bob Eubanks and Wink Martindale.and 2) late emcees Art Fleming,Gene Rayburn,Art James,Bill Cullen,Allen Ludden,Larry Blyden,Jack Narz,etc.- And by 3)new guys ,I mean Wayne Brady,Steve Harvey,Jeff Foxworthy and Drew Carey . I prefer veteran game show hosts in categories 1 and 2.Except for Drew Carey,I am NOT really impressed with today's new crop of game show hosts. What about the rest of you?Feel free to post.

The Veteran game show hosts are far superior. It's not even a contest. One of the things that made the older game shows so entertaining is the great game show hosts they had.--Granted I do not watch any of the modern game shows, but I have taken a quick look at a few of them, and the hosts are terrible.---And it's not only the hosts, but everything about the older game shows is 1000 times better. The happy, lively sets, the superior celebrity guests etc.Even the contestants they picked on the older game shows were much better and entertaining.---Just like most modern television-- modern game shows scrape the bottom of the barrel, and will put anyone in front of the cameras.

Another good one is the only woman in the crowd,Meredith Viera. As host of the daytime version of "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire(Yes,I know Regis can't be beat as host of "Who wants to Be A Millionaire",but the daytime version is in good hands with Meredith ,)she's bright, bubbly and makes the contestants (even the nervous ones)feel good.As for the rest of the new crop of game show hosts (except for Drew Carey),they leave a lot to be desired.

And the new hosts-Not so much Drew Carey, but Jeff Foxworthy of the now-defunct "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader",Steve Harvey sometimes does,Wayne Brady ,and Cedrick the Entertainer("It's Worth What"? at times)act like they're bored with the shows they host, and would rather be somewhere else.
