Penny's guest appearances as Mary's neighbor Paula were from 1975 and 1976. 1976 also marked the debut of Laverne & Shirley. Nuff said!

I agree. I think they should have waited for MTM to finish its run before spinning off Rhoda. The show was never the same after she left, Mary never had a real "sidekick." I agree Penny would have been good, but then we wouldn't have had Laverne & Shirley!
