If you had to pick one favorite song in the world, what song would you choose? I would choose, 'Human," by the Human League.
That song just takes me away to a good place. It's haunting, it's chilling, it's relaxing, and calming. It's a beautiful song. In my opinion, it's as close to perfection as a song can get. ![]() Here is this wonderful song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1ysoohV_zA&feature=fvsr |

For 45 years, my favorite pop song has been Paul McCartney's "Yesterday."
It has been covered by scores of artists, but Paul's version will always be the BEST. He just put so much emotion into it when he sang it. |

Before the post-Steve Perry Journey album "Generations" I would have said my favorite song was Josh Groban's "To Where You Are", which is obviously addressed to a person who is in heaven. I want that played at my funeral!
Now I would say my favorite is the song from "Generations" called "Butterfly". I have always loved butterflies and felt like a secretly angry outsider like the girl in the song. But I just now got around to making parts of it my signature and so forth on here, and hope to also have that recording played at my funeral one day. Yeah, I know, morbid.... |

If I were to choose my favorite songs in the world, I would most likely pick these: 1. Enemy Of God --by Kreator. Not because I am an "enemy of God", of course, but because it sounds totally brutal. Even more brutal than Slayer. 2. Angel Of Death --by Slayer. While we're on the subject, I like this song because of the awesome tempo changes. And of course, it's brutal. 3. Bad Omen --by Megadeth. Another killer thrash song with amazing tempo changes. Just when it started chugging faster in one middle part, it stops and speeds at a ridiculously fast tempo, with guitars squealing and fingers dancing on the fretboards. 4. Hallowed Be Thy Name --by Iron Maiden. This is considered by many to be Maiden's finest song, and with good reason. It sounds haunting in the opening, and then launches into a decent tempo change of danger and dread. There are melodic parts of the song with start after certain solo passages which reinforce the main melody that sound perfectly chilling. 5. Sign Of the Southern Cross/E5150/The Mob Rules --by Black Sabbath. The sequence of songs works best as a three-piece because it segues into the other perfectly. The first one sounds doomy and heavy, before it launches into a horrific bass solo on the second, reminescent of shrieking demons, and finally into blistering power chords of the third. Dio's vocals are excellent, as usual. |

My list of favorite songs changes so frequently that it's really hard to choose one. But I'll start thinking of some songs I love and make a list.

I just cannot believe that I didn't mention "Sloop John B" by the Beach Boys! This is my favorite song of all time. A very close second would be "Fireflies" by Owl City. But I have so many songs that I love, it's hard to choose.
