Hello all,
Being that I am an BIG fan of "Unsolved Mysteries" and I also listen to numerous podcast related to television shows, I got to thinking...Wouldn't it be a great idea to have a podcast about Unsolved Mysteries? We could discuss classic unsolved mystery segments, provide up-to-date updates on cases, discuss theories that fans have, possibly get interviews with people involved or related to cases, experts, etc. We could have 2 or 3 people involved with the hosting the show regularly. Many podcasts with more than one host involve the other hosts calling in over the phone so physical locations would not be a major problem. We could record a podcast, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Each podcast could revolve around one classic case for most of the segment, perhaps even air clips from the segment itself(with the necessary permissions of course). There could also be a part at the end of the segment where we read listener/fans emails and discuss them. Anyone who is a fan of this idea or even interested in helping make this podcast a reality please respond to this thread or message me. I am extremely interested in getting this idea moving. Any input is very appreciated. |

So I'm doing the research and figuring out the logistics. May be a while before I get some things set in stone. Rest assured, I am working on it. I would love for people on this site to be involved as this is the most comprehensive site out there regarding the show and its "mysteries". If anyone has any suggestions, feedback, opinions, or anything else please feel free to reply to this thread or message me.

Still doing research on the necessary equipment, rights from production company, costs involved, etc. Considering reaching out to some of the forum regulars here to see if they would like to be involved in any way as well. Also, already compiling a list of the first 5 or 10 cases that will be discussed........STAY TUNED.....

Michelle over at TrueCrimeDiary has posted a podcast about Joseph Henry Burgess, who is a suspect in the Cutshall/Allen murders. Not a UM case, but highly recommended, especially if you're interested in a diy podcast.

Thanks for the info! I'll be sure to check it out.
BTW, still doing the research as to costs for equipment and working on contacts over at Cosgrove for permissions. The podcast could in theory go on anyway without the permission however it would have to be done without using ANY actual clips from the show. Plus, I would LOVE to be able to use the old school music for the opening of the podcast. I'll keep everyone posted... |

I'm interested in helping out anyway I can. We'll need a good group of people to host, so we have interesting round table discussions with many opinions/debates. I'd love to be part of that, but..if not, whatever else I can do

This would be awesome! I don't listen to many podcasts, but I'd be down for a UM one.

Definitely interested in following such a podcast. Can't you use parts of Unsolved as fair use, commentary?

Yeah. even if you couldn't use soundbytes from the show it would still be enough just to have a Podcast discussing the cases! I hope this comes to completion. sounds really cool.
