Which Dick did you prefer on Bewitched? I preferred Dick York myself.

Myself i prefered Dick York as well,though i thought Dick Sargent was excellent as well & comparable as Darrin.We should all be grateful that he took over the role & gave us 3 more wonderful years of Bewitched that we otherwise wouldn't have had as Dick York was no longer capable of doing the role due to his back problems.

He was the first choice of Liz & Bill asher & if he had done the role first then all would be saying how great he was & how it is a shame that Dick York had to take over the role if the situations were reversed.We always prefer & want the first one we see in a role as change is not comfortable to the Mortal species,just ask Endora.

For sure! I agree...if it were not for Dick Sargent, we wouldn't have had more years of viewing pleasure....Bewitched!
Although I did like Dick Sargent, I found him well...perhaps more harsh than Dick York? Not sure, but that is how I viewed him.
All in all, Bewitched was one of my very favorite sitcoms of all time, and Elizabeth Montgomery is one of my favorite actresses...but now, you couldn't tell that, could you? My avatar is a beautiful portrait of her.

I don't know about Dick Sargent being Harsher,actually Dick York was far more vocal,rough & even abusive towards Samantha then Dick Sargent was,so i couldn't call Dick Sargent Harsher,he was actually very lowkey & laidback & mellow as Darrin ,compared to Dick York who was always screaming & yelling & out of sorts & looked like he was about to have a heart attack he was so upset at the Witchery.

Now i do not intend this as a criticism of Dick York as he played the part just right & all that i mentioned re him was as it should be for the role to be portrayed properly,it is just that if he was more so & Dick Sargent was less so in these respects then how can one be critical of Dick Sargent & not Dick York re being Harsher.

Just one warlocks opinion
