Chargers defensive coordinator Ron Rivera to be Named Carolina Panthers Head Coach
In what will be an off-season of change in Carolina, it appears the Panthers have found their first piece in rebuilding their franchise.
Chargers defensive coordinator Ron Rivera is expected to be named the Panthers' head coach, according to FOX Sports' Jay Glazer. Rivera, 49, has been in the running for several head coaching jobs over the last few years. Rivera was rewarded after leading the Chargers defence to the top ranking in the NFL this season. The former NFL linebacker served as linebackers coach for the Philadelphia Eagles under the late Jim Johnson, as well defensive coordinator of the Chicago Bears, before joining the Chargers.
