Help with a couple of cases - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

There was a case where a man who looked to be a hillbilly of some sort and he was accused of killing two girls. In the re-enactment it showed him being asked by two cops if he knew the names of the girls in the pictures. When he did he got arrested. He claims his innocence and I believe it was one of those final appeal cases. Anyone know?

Another one. A young man is with a girl and while he is pumping gas she runs into two other guys she knows. He finds them suspicious but she ensures him it is okay and then she is found dead. He tells this story to the police, even passing a polygraph. Then he is found guilty of the murders and even admits them. Any help?

first one is Michael Lloyd Self. I have seen the second case, but can't recall any names.

Wendy Long is the second case. Really sad that he was lying all along!

Thank you both for the information. It is a shame I cannot find a Youtube video on either one of those cases though.

I always remember with the Long case that the shot of those two mystery men (who obviously turned out to be fake) is super creepy.
