Alec Baldwin "Very, Very, Interested" in Running for Office
Alec Baldwin has long been known for his political activism, but now he might finally be ready to run for office himself.
In an interview scheduled to air on tonight's episode of 'Parker Spitzer,' the '30 Rock' star said running for office is "something that I'm very, very interested in." While Baldwin stressed that he didn't want to be viewed as anti-elitist, he said, "People want to believe that someone who deeply cares about the middle class ... would like to seek public office. ... We need people who ... really have not lost sight of what the middle class in this country needs." Although he's been a world-famous actor for many years, Baldwin said he's still in touch with his roots. "Whatever I've accrued in my career, it hasn't changed me as a person." http://www.popeater.com/2011/01/06/a...ng-for-office/ |

Alec Baldwin Not Running for Office Yet Says Aide
by Catherine Lawson posted Jan 6th 2011 Yesterday we told you how Alec Baldwin is "very, very interested" in running for political office. Well according to his reps, any political ambitions the "30 Rock" star is harboring will just have to wait for now. Baldwin's rep told Page Six that the actor's under contract to "30 Rock" through 2012, "and after that he'll keep his options open." A source close to Baldwin also pointed out that there aren't any suitable political offices up for grabs in 2012 anyway: "There's nothing to run for in 2012. ... There's a Democratic incumbent [Tim Bishop] in his district in the Hamptons, and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand [New York, Dem.] is looking strong." http://www.tvsquad.com/2011/01/06/al...yet-says-aide/ |

Given the acrimonious nature of his split w/ Kim Basinger, his unpleasant phone messages that he left his own daughter and his relatively thin skin about his personal life when he's just an actor, he would probably do well to stay an actor.
He simply doesn't have the "toughness" for political office, IMHO. |

Please, please, NO!!! I do have to agree that Mr. Baldwin is someone who can dish it out, but can't take it.
