The pots and pans dishwasher thread made me wonder....
For those with a dishwasher do you rinse off/wash your dishes before you put them in the dishwasher? Or do you just put them in the dishwasher as is? I rinse off/wash the dishes first and then put them in the dishwasher. I can't imagine just putthing them directly in the dishwasher. I don't think they would get as clean if not rinsed off first. |

Yes I do rinse my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. Since I only run my dishwasher once a week (I live alone) I pretty much have to.

No, but I really should because if you don't wash them before hand the dishes don't really come clean.

With my dishwasher, you pretty much have to. So I set up a chair in front of the sink (because of my RA), run some ridiculously hot water and rinse every dish before I put them in my dishwasher.
My wife and I are bad about rinsing our dishes off after we use them, so sometimes this takes some doing. Which is why I'll usually fill half of the sink up with hot, soapy water and let the "problem" dishes soak while I'm rinsing other dishes and stocking the dishwasher. I hate to admit it, but this is usually a 20-30 minute process for me. Yes, I lead a very interesting life! |

Yeah, I rinse most dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. If I washed the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher...that'd be pointless!

I always rinse the dishes and depending on the condition sometimes do a light wash of them before I put them in the dishwasher.

I don't have a dishwasher but, I voted yes. I rinse my dishes, pots, and pans after I use them so when I do wash them they're easier to clean.

Actually, I am the diswasher in my house. Even with that I always pre-rinse the dishes, etc., it seems to help the sponge stay sopier longer.
