Biggrin Your Predictions For 2011?

I love this annual thread - although sleep deprived me can't think of any predictions right now! Who's next?

I Predict that...

...Obama will praise someone that shouldn't be praised.
...Jimmy Carter, Billy Graham, and Aretha Franklin will be the few celebrity deaths this year.
...Some big business will be in trouble with the law.
...Cleveland will not...I REPEAT...will not win a Championship!
...The recession will be over, but not in the areas near Detroit.
...Dick Clark will do The New Years Eve Celebration.

I think the Cleveland thing is a no-brainer!!

- Sadly, I predict that if Lindsay Lohan doesn't get her act together for good, she'll be another statistic.

- I predict that Abe Vigoda will host an episode of SNL.

- I predict that somehow Obama will manage to convince the Baseball HOF to induct Pete Rose.

The Obamas will go on vacation.

Reality shows will see a decline.

More great classic sitcoms will be released on DVD.

1) The nation's economy will continue to slump, though pundits will loudly try to convince everyone that things are getting better. The unemployment rate will remain high, at 9 percent or more.

2) There will be a serious challenge to Facebook from a rival social network.

3) The world will be stunned upon learning that someone has finally used texting for something useful, like summoning help or finding directions, instead of informing people what they just ate, how bored they are, or where the party is tonight.

4) Scientists, in a desperate, last ditch effort to ward off use of the word "amazing", will implant nano technology in everyone that will trigger when the word is used, and pump the "Trololo" video into the head of the user. Usage will fall almost immediately.

5) The planet Earth, battered by a year of extreme flooding, hurricanes, earthquakes and depressed by ongoing wars, nuclear proliferation, pandemic alerts and global recession, will flee to the edge of the galaxy for a much needed break. It will not leave a forwarding address, and it will not leave it's cell phone on. But it will check it's email every Wednesday.

6) Oprah's next book will once again be a record best seller, though not a single human being will read it all the way through.

7) The time between the original film and the reboot will continue to decrease, culminating in one horrible incident where a studio will release a reboot of a film that hasn't even been made yet.

8) The importance of History will continue to decline in school curriculums, resulting in a new, streamlined class called "Stuff that Happened Yesterday".

9) The number of TV channels I receive will continue to go up. My amount of interest in them will continue to decline.

10) The great folks at Sitcoms Online will have a wonderful year; they deserve it!

Thanks...and for that I apologize for being a sad sack. Many people gave me blessings for next year and one thing is that I'm going to be an uncle by March 15th...give or take.

Thanks, Mickey! I hope that 2011 will be a great year for you as well.

Frankly, nothing against anyone here, but I'm really tired of hearing about how bad Obama is. Is Obama doing as good of a job as many of us hoped? He certainly isn't. I think he has some of the wrong people working for him. However, let's not forget that he inherited much of this country's problems from Gerorge W. Bush. When I was laid off I recall Bush being president and not Obama.

Well, Clinton did have his moments but I do agree that Reagan was our last truly good president.

This is true, but I would go back even further than Bush. I think Clinton is a big part of it. Anyone remember something called NAFTA??? I guess he didn't realize that when people overseas manufature and then send their goods and everyone here buys them, that companies here go out of business because instead of buying things here, we're too busy buying things from China. I think theres also the banks to blame with lending out money that they knew the people couldn't afford to pay back and all that stuff.

Anyways, my predictions.......
1)Entertainment will yet again become crappier.

2)100 more Hollywood couples that were "meant to be" will divorce after less than five years of marriage.

3)Something else will be made illegal for kids, which will cause that product to be used more often by kids because it is made illegal

4)Taxes will be raised because the government officials will find even more made up job titles for their relatives that need jobs.

5) And even though this most likely means nothing to any of you, I'm going to get a boyfriend

Hope everyone has a happy 2011!

I also lost a job when Bush was President. It happened on a Friday. I went home, made one phone call to a company that had been trying to get me to go work for them for some time. I told the new company that I had some time off, and could I meet with them during the following week. I went there Monday, and left with a job offer for 10 grand a year more than I made in my previous job. They never even knew I was out of work.

Not only that, but the company I left paid me my same salary for 3 months after I left.

One big difference between losing a job when Bush was President and losing a job now is that if you lose a job now, there aren't a bunch of other jobs waiting for you to walk right into. And it's being done purposefully by this guy in the White House.

People didn't need two years to find a job when Bush was President. And Obama's only answer to the employment problem is to extend unemployment "benefits".

True. He's only concerned about the minority groups out there, special groups rights. All those groups though can be put into one group, its called the working class. in my opinion we need more manufacturing jobs.
