Who and who join the what? Laverne and Shirley is another television show that I question being adapted into a cartoon but why the army? Why not just regular zany adventures from Laverne and Shirley? An equivalent adaptation today would be Snooki and the Situation join the Army. Raise your hand if you want to see that. (If you are raising your hand, put it down)

I liked it. Casting Ron Palillo, the former sweathog on Welcome Back, Kotter as a talking pig(!) was brilliant. Hanna-Barbera also produced animated versions of Happy Days and Mork and Mindy for Saturday morning. All three shows featured members of the original casts. They never pretended to be classics, but they were entertaining diversions and (sometimes) were quite funny in their own right.

Women cartoon characters joining the Army was the in thing during that time, thanks to 'Private Benjamin'. They also had a segment on 'Popeye' where Olive Oyl joined the Army.

I never actually saw the cartoon but wouldn't mind checking it out. Maybe someone has it posted on youtube.

I remember the cartoon. As much as I wanted to love it as a kid, I have to admit that it sucked pretty badly. The only high points of the show were that Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams supplied the voices. By season two, they had been replaced.
I vaguely remember the Mork and Mindy cartoon, but the Happy Days one was the best of the three. |

Why do you ask? Was it on Saturday mornings briefly?
