What is your TV show DVD of the year for 2010? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Now that 2010 is winding down, what TV show DVD do you choose as your favorite release of the year? For me, it has to be the Leave It To Beaver complete series. After the disappointment from Universal ending the DVD's after the 2nd season, it was great to have the complete series released by Shout Factory in one box set.

Overall, 2010 has been a pretty good year for DVD's. A number of titles I've been waiting for were released.

Which TV series DVD gets your vote?

The Facts of LIfe Season 5

The Complete Series of Leave it to Beaver

Although there were no bonus features, the most important DVD of 2010 was season four of "Boy Meets World." Because it signaled the un-stalling of one of my favorite comedies.

I'd go with either Leave it to Beaver or The Larry Sanders Show. For those who are fans of the Six Million Dollar Man you have to be thrilled to have that out! I am not a follower of that show but looking at what they put together it makes me wish I was.

Actually, I've only seen one: Big Bang Theory Season 3, which was an
early Christmas present. But I enjoyed it, their best season so far (in my
opinion). But I haven't had a chance to see much of the fourth season yet.

I should also add Tales Of The Gold Monkey The Complete Series since it looked like it would never make it to DVD for awhile.

Mystery Science Theater Volume 18 - Because it has my two all-time favorite episodes: Jack Frost and The Beast of Yucca Flats. Plus the other two epiosdes on the set (Lost Continent, Crash of the Moons) are both great as well. It also has a nice balance of two Joel episodes and two Mike episodes. IMO this is the strongest volume so far.

For me, it would have to be Mr. Belvedere: Season Four. Once again, Shout! Factory put together a fine set of the long-running, but criminally overlooked series.

I just wish they would release season 5 already. To me, it's the rarest of all the shows' six seasons (meaning I've never seen a single episode from that particular season before). I already bought seasons 1-4 on DVD, so hopefully, my doing my part made a difference. Before the DVDs came out, the only episodes I remember seeing were on YouTube, and they the pilot episode from season 1, the "The Play" episode from season 2, the "Grandma" episode from season 3, the "The Counselor" episode from season 4, and the "Homecoming" episode from season 6.

TV_Fan, you said you don't remember seeing the last three seasons when they were first shown, right? Well I'm glad you enjoyed season 4. I know I did. Hopefully, when the final two seasons come out, you'll enjoy them just as much, even though it was during the last one when Brice Beckham (Wesley) was officially past puberty.
