Well I like all of them, except for the last, I guess.
The one in the later seasons (like 6) when when it was like a curly type. Actually season one was a wig.

I like the long dark hair from season one, even if it was a wig. I also liked her hair during season four, when it was lighter and straight with bangs. Sometimes she wore a bun, which I kind of liked, too. The other styles made her look too old.

I agree with the first season look, even though it was a wig. I liked Mary Richards with longer hair.

Me too! I thought I would be the only one who liked that long style from Season 1!
She looked okay in the other styles too, I'll add. When she had a flip style, the ends looked so strong that you could hang a coat on them! |

That style from Season 1 seems to have become pretty popular by 1967 if not earlier -- I saw a very similar one on a Bonanza episode from around then, for example. But by let's say 1974, other ways to wear longer hair had become more common. (And of course Farrah's feathering was still several years in the future.)
So Mary's wig fits right into the popular years. I think it's an attractive look, and it has the advantage of the tresses staying out of the way. I like seeing the length, but it's not fair to have a woman constantly having to move long hair away from her face all day long...! |

I think short hair in general seems to make people look older. The only reason that she didn't look much older in S4 was because she bangs. |
