WARNING!! SOME PEOPLE MIGHT CONSIDER THIS A SPOILER SO READ ON AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
It is the latest Lucille Ball special release from MPI. Good Lord, what a clambake! I mean, was she leaving the selection of material all up to Gary Morton at this point? The other special with Nannette Fabray and Art Carney is funny, but "Curtis" has to be the biggest blunder Lucy ever made. All I can say is a 22-minute monologue in TV is a big fat "no-no". It might be OK in theater, but TV is something else. Watching her and Joseph Bologona acting like they were young lovers was a little embarrassing..... |

I, actually, liked both specials. Funny, the monologue was my favorite part of "Catherine Curtis". I was impressed by Lucy's dramatic ability.
"Happy Anniversary & Goodbye" was pretty good too. It was interesting to see Lucy talk about sex. Shows the sign that times for tv were changing. Overall, I'm really happy to have this dvd. Looking forward to completing the collection with "Lucy Moves to NBC". |
