Default Moses Lall...missing person

Hi all,

I was just searching for information about this case, and stumbled upon the following...

http://www.facebook.com/people/Moses-Lall/741684577

Here is Lall's picture on the Doe network likely taken around the same time he disappeared...

http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/1048dmfl.html

Is it just me, or does the Facebook picture of Moses Lall look very familiar?

Check it out. Moses Lall and Lilla Buerattan were from Guyana and the Moses Lall of Facebook has University of Guyana as his college. Freaky.

Same here, or have the authorities written this off due to time and costs involved? Nonetheless, if anyone who has facebook can check it out further as I'm into that stuff.

This is a rare case that I've only seen once or twice. I personally think the ranch hand who told the other ranch hand he witnessed Moses and his aunt being abducted at gunpoint is lying and had something to do with their disappearance. Does anyone know if this is on the forbidden site?

EDIT: Read this article: http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/199...ess-detectives

This article was written shortly after Hari Gobin (the ranch hand who claims to have witnessed Moses and Lila being abducted) was pulled over with Moses Lall's drivers license. Police did not know this at the time, which is why the article keeps stating it was in fact Moses Lall who was pulled over. But the REAL Moses Lall was already reported missing three days before Hari Gobin was pulled over.

The article states this: "Police found Lall fixing a flat tire on his white Plymouth Voyager van near Interstate 95. Seven to 10 exotic birds and about 100 tortoises were inside the van, said Palm Beach County Sheriff's Sgt. Ken Deischer."

It gets better, here's an excerpt from another article going into a bit more detail about the character of Hari Gobin:

"Mahadai Lall believes the two ranch hands who worked for her son are the key to unraveling the mystery. Even before Moses' disappearance, one of them had already proved he was capable of turning on his employer.
IN OCTOBER 1993, LALL told his mother that Daljeet Gobin had stolen $29,000 from the ranch house and driven off in a van to escape.

The Lalls tracked him down in New York City and informed the police. When Moses filed charges, Gobin pleaded with his boss to drop the case. Lall finally agreed, after Gobin said he would return the $26,000 he still had. Lall also allowed Gobin to return to the ranch.

"That was my son's mistake," Mahadai says. "He is very softhearted."

The article also goes on to explain that when Gobin was pulled over, posing as Lall, they found a video tape in the vehicle about how to change your identity.

So there you have it. Mystery solved, IMHO. I think it's obvious that Hari Gobin was involved in the disappearances of both Moses and his aunt Lila, and the fact that he had tortoises and birds in his possession tells me he killed them and intended on selling their property. The whole "abduction" story was a ruse cooked up by Hari Gobin to avoid suspicion. IIRC, Hari Gobin also "disappeared" shortly after he was pulled over posing as Moses Lall. He also just so happened to be in possession of Lall's birds AND a videotape detailing how one can change their identity. Why would an innocent man feel the need to steal from his recently abducted employers, not inform police of witnessing the actual abduction, steal Moses Lall's vehicle, somehow get his driver's license, and then flee?

bump

I guess this is one of those rare segments that not very many people have seen. I don't even think it was shown on the Farina hosted episodes.

I've actually ONLY seen the Farina version of this segment. It was on the forbidden site several months ago, but I believe it's since been taken down.

Anyway, I always found it strange that the UM segment treated Hari Gobin as one of those "secondary" missing persons where you're not quite sure whether or not they were actually in danger, or if they were involved in the victim's disappearance (kinda like those nameless Haitian crew members in the Lisa Bishop story). But from what I've read in that article, it seems pretty obvious to me that Gobin was the only guilty party here.

However, I wonder if the police are even looking for him any more. I wouldn't be surprised if he just went back to Guyana.

Today marks 25 years since Lall and his aunt disappeared. I always found it odd that when Disappeared covered this case, that they tracked down Gobin seventeen years after the fact only for him to walk off the premises of his job when police arrived to question him. It ended like that, like "no chasing after him?" or "did they ever find him later on?". Seems strange that the story ended there.

someone said upthread they've only seen this episode on the Farina version, well, I've only seen it on the Stack version, so it's there.

I wonder why LE hasn't put forth more effort in this case?Would love to have a real update.
