It was the one where the late Henry Fonda hosted a retrospective show. All it was was a bunch of clips. I am sorry, but I hate retrospective shows. It is like the writers took a vacation or something. Anyone agree? Disagree?

Atleast All in the Family did somethiing -lol All the other Norman Lear shows did nothing when they reached their 100th ep

You have to remember in those days, it was common to not make a big deal about a one hundredth episode. For one thing, reaching 100 episodes NOW means that you have lasted five or more years...in the old days, when it was common to produce over 25 episodes a year, it meant perhaps four seasons.

As to the retrospective thing, yeah, I prefer a new episode, but it was neat to see the show honored by someone as prominent as Henry Fonda, and I liked seeing the actual taping of the show and Lear's intro.

I like retrospectives so I enjoyed this episode. It's also a great format for acknowledging the work of many people who worked on the series. You couldn't do that with a regular episode.

I guess I can see your guys points. I guess celebrating a historic episode is better than not acknowledging it at all. I am just not a big fan of retrospective shows. If they did it at the end of the series as Seinfeld did, maybe I could appreciate it more.

I love retrospective shows. It gives us a chance to go down memory lane. It's a great thing.
