Emmy-award winner Melissa Hayden will be joining "The Young and the Restless".

Hayden's character, Agnes, is set to appear on Fri., Jan. 7 for the start of a big storyline. According to Soap Opera Digest, Agnes' appearance will be ... "kicking something off. It's going to be meaningful when it happens."

Hayden won her Emmy while playing Bridget Reardon on "Guiding Light".

Cool!!! I always wondered why she'd never done another soap after GL - nice to see her land on another soap.
