Question Would You Want To Remember Everything That Has Happened To You In Life?

Would you want to remember everything that has happened in your life? Knowing you would remember both good and bad things.

There was a segment on 60 Minutes featuring five people who could remember almost everything from their entire lives. They were asked to remember things from a random day and were able to say exactly what happened that year, month, day, hour. MRI tests of the individuals showed that parts of their brains were larger than those of the average person who doesn't remember everything from birth on. It was also mentioned that some of the individuals had OCD tendencies.

I don't think I would want to remember everything. That seems like that would be memory overload.

No, I wouldn't. I think that would drive me nuts. I also wouldn't want to remember every little argument I've had with people over the years that I've long forgotten about.

No. Most of it would be useless trivia and my being mistaken about things.
I would, however, like to remember more of the important thing that I may have forgotten, like all of the things that I learned about SAP and control circuit troubleshooting.

Some things are better to be left forgotten in the past.

Yes and no. Yes, I do want to remember the good times and bad so I wont make the same mistake twice. And no, because memories are painful.

There is a lot in my life I'd just rather forget. I don't need to remember anymore than I already do.

for me like the others, it's a no for the negatives. especially as i have experienced a lot of bad things when i was a child, and as a early 20 something.

If I can only remember things from the past like going to the Milan Melon Festival, Wing-Foot Lake, and spending time with my Grandfather then Hell Yes!

But if I have to remember the things from the past like my grandparents dying, having to take care of someone else kids, and the pain to see myself growing older...than growing up...then Hell NO!

See...I think I have this ability to some extent. Not the exact dates thing, but close. It is kind of haunting.

Cool

I believe our ability to forget things is part of our brains self defense system that keeps us from reliving the mistakes of our past over and over and helps us maintain our sanity. So no I wouldn't want to remember everything I've ever experienced. Ignorance is bliss!!!

no..i feel i would rather not remember everything. I can imagine many a time i looked like a jackass when argueing with people whom were pointless to be around or have in my life..I don't want to remember eating a chili and how hott that was when i was 5, nor my rabbit getting eaten by my dad when i was 7, nor breaking a leg at 10 or anything teenage where i thought about romantic things and then realized how stupid i looked when the boys i liked, maybe liked someone else..lol...I did however like one instance i remember where i karate kicked a guy that bugged me, hmm this is okay to keep in the memmory banks haha..
