whats jestified mean i wouldnt just trying make the show right and needed everything to be perfect.it happens on shows he is without a doubt stil a legond of classic television

I read an article where he defends that time in his life as trying to do what was best for everyone. He knew if he didn't return it would mean the end of the show and put people out of work. I never got the whole story about what he was like on the set.

I believe Carroll O'Connor was a nearly-50-year-old-actor who assumed AITF would either make or break his career in 1971. When the show became a success, he rode it into the sunset. I think he wanted to put his name on it as much as possible, knowing how successful it was. He may have even thought it would be the last thing he did, but of course, there was "In The Heat Of The Night."
