Did The Mary Tyler Moore Show Ever Mention Dick Van Dyke???
Did TMTMS ever reference Dick Van Dyke or was there ever any cameos or guest stars from Mary's 1st show, 'The Dick Van Dyke Show?'

Jerry Van Dyke, Dick's brother, made an appearance a couple of times.
And Jerry Paris (Jerry Helper on TDVDS) directed a few 'Mary' eps.

Additional Trivia: The character of Mary Richards was originally supposed to be a divorcee, but CBS wanted that changed. They didn't want viewers to perceive her as being divorced from Dick Van Dyke. So in the pilot, they had her breaking up with her fiance'.
