Would a daytime "Wheel of Fortune" work today?

As most of us know, Wheel of Fortune started out as a daytime show on network television. For the second half of its sixteen-year run on daytime television, it was being produced simultaneously with the current syndicated evening version.

If a network--hypothetically CBS, since the show is currently under the same corporate umbrella--decided to relaunch an hourlong daytime Wheel (perhaps as a companion to The Price Is Right), would it work as well in 2010 as it did in 1985? Why or why not? And would it devalue the syndicated version?

They DID do an hourlong version of Wheel of Fortune on NBC daytime in 1975-not 1985,and was hosted by the ORIGINAL host,Chuck Woolery.It did show promise,but did NOT,however,last,and went back to a half-hour format until 1991,when it ended its daytime run.It would,however,work now.Because in its current format(they could offer as "prize puzzles"more prizes,besides trips,cash and prizes)they could expand it,and it would work.Wouldn't it be great if CBS was to return it-or even NBC?And I don't think it would devalue the syndicated version one bit.

I think it would work, but they may have to get someone else to host it. I'm not sure if Pat Sajak would be interested hosting 10 shows a week of WOF, especially if one of the versions is an hour long.
