Default Why doesn't THIS TV rerun this?

since they have access to the MGM TV library--it would seem like GA would be on the schedule somewhere?

I wish that they would, I guess maybe they just don't think that it would get that many viewers. I know that I get to see reruns on a couple local channels, but they are both religious channels that seem to always be asking for money.

Well they bury Highway Patrol, Sea Hunt, The Patty Duke Show and Mister Ed in the early wee morning hours, so why not add Green Acres there as well?

We're into the 6th season here. But unfortunately they are cut episodes.

Nick At Nite and TVLand both had it in heavy rotation in the early 90's. There aren't many episodes so it's easy to "burn out" the series within a year or so.

A local channel of mine reruns it too.

My local "THIS TV" doesn't carry it but I can catch it on a World Harvest channel.

I didn't know that Green Acres qualifies as being in the THIS library -- most of the other series they run were originally ZIV and United Artists. Does that mean that they could potentially carry Petticoat Junction as well (its parent series)? And IIRC The Courtship of Eddie's Father was an MGM production.

Petticoat Junction is owned by CBS. You would need to look at Wikipedia for the explanation of how Green Acres ended up in MGM's hands (basically this series was never owned by CBS, unlike Paul Henning's other series). THIS TV is a partnership between MGM and Weigel Broadcasting (ME-TV), so they use the MGM TV and movie library(which includes United Artists) for programming.

I don't know if this means anything, but both of the channels that I catch Green Acres on air Petticoat Junction also.

Thanks for the replies.

Just for comparison with others' experience, here are the older live-action series being run by my local THIS channel:

The Patty Duke Show (UA)
The Outer Limits (UA)
Bat Masterson (ZIV)
Highway Patrol (ZIV)
Sea Hunt (ZIV)
Mister Ed (Filmways)

Several of these air between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m., which is not as bad as other networks that put their series on at 2 a.m., 3 a.m., etc.

I think that's about everything... I can watch all of them every weekday except Bat Masterson, which airs twice on Sunday mornings and sporadically on weekdays -- like when movie runtimes permit.
