Default Anyone Remember Chopper One?

An hour long police show about a Helicopter crew. It had an awesome theme, haven't seen it since it originally aired in 1974.

I remember.I also remember not being impressed even though I was a kid at the time.

They had a Chopper One "movie" that came out about 5 years later that was several episodes cobbled together. It confirmed my earlier hypothesis that the show was terrible.

Thumbs up Chopper One (ABC) 1974

I remember 'Chopper One', kind of an 'Adam-12' in the sky. It was a half-hour drama series (remember those). It was an ABC mid-season entry (replacing 'Toma' which moved to Fridays) during the 1973-74 season on Thursdays at 8 pm, and it lead into another half-hour drama 'Firehouse' at 8:30 pm. 'Chopper One' averaged 15.1HH, while 'Firehouse' averaged 15.7HH, both running third to 'The Waltons' on CBS (27.9HH) and 'The Flip Wilson Show' on NBC (17.1HH).

'Chopper One' focused on the buddy relationship of the two chopper pilots, but had a rather inexpensive look to it, with overuse of repetitive helicopter stock shots.

The Fact Chopper One and Firehouse were up against The Waltons meant they didn't have a Chance. Legions of Shows were placed in that time slot, only to be gome a few weeks later. Nevertheless if both series were available on DVD I'd purchase them in a Heartbeat.
