Exclamation Comedy Central Unveils New Look, Logo

Comedy Central today unveiled its first major makeover in a decade, complete with a new logo. It sure looks like the copyright symbol, doesn't it? Matt Mitovich, Editor-At-Large for MMC's upcoming TV-centric Web site, was at the event in New York and will file his report shortly. In the meanwhile, here is Comedy Central's video promoting the new look.

We're doing marketing research for our church, and one thing we've found in the case of logos is that simplicity is in right now. Things anyone could design on MS Paint.

That said, I miss the old Comedy Central logo from the early '90s:

Don't like it. Prefer the one they currently have.

Yeah, agreed. That one was so much snazzier and creative and at least has COLOR!

The new one looks, not only like the copyright symbol, but just (if they made it a little pointier) like the human ear. That's sort of strange. At least choose the body part (mouth) most associated with laughing given that you're the Comedy Central channel. Oh boy.

Wouldn't producing better and funnier programming be more beneficial than a new logo?

I like TCMs logo--they don't have one that's why I like it.But hey,TCM is a great tv station. They don't have to remind people what station they are watching(during the movie, that is).---As far as comedy centrals logo,I don't watch the station but the old one is much better.

The early 90s logo was the best one.
