Snooki Will Drop Inside a Ball on New Year's Eve

Anyone planning to ring in the new year in Times Square this year will have two countdowns to keep an eye on.

In addition to the traditional ball drop, MTV will host one of its own -- with a twist. "Jersey Shore" star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi will be holed up inside the ball, the AP reports.

Yep, you read that right -- Snooki will drop inside a ball on MTV's New Year's Eve special.

In addition, the network will host a mass fist-pumping event with the rest of the "Jersey Shore" cast members in an attempt to break a Guinness World Record.

"MTV New Year's Bash" airs at 11PM ET on Dec. 31.

Hopefully the ratings will plummet faster than Snooki.

TMZ reports that MTV has found a new location for Snook's ball drop. There's no place like home as the rigging has relocated to Seaside Heights, New Jersey where "Jersey Shore" shoots.
