Hmmm, that's a good question...I sometimes think of stuff like this in groups or pairs...
Bob Hope Lucille Ball Groucho Marx (or Harpo or Chico)...I love the Marx Brothers Cary Grant Hugh Beaumont & Barbara Billingsley (my favorite TV couple) Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers Judy Garland Don Adams Gleason/Meadows/Carney of "Honeymooners" fame Hal Roach - I started thinking about the "Our Gang" kids that I liked, and then there's Laurel & Hardy and Harold Lloyd... Roach was the producer who made them stars. I'd like to have met an "Our Gang" kid, there are fewer than ten of them known to still be alive today, out of hundreds of "kids" who appeared in the 221 films produced between 1922 and 1944. According to wiki's "Our Gang" entry, "...Surviving cast members of Our Gang include Dickie Moore (now age 85), Jackie Cooper (88), Marianne Edwards (79), Jean Darling (88), Mildred Kornman (85), Robert Blake (77), Jerry Tucker (85), Sidney Kibrick (82) and Jackie Lynn Taylor (84)..." Many of the Our Gang members have passed away just within the past ten years. But wow, there are so many.... two of my all time favorite actors (who don't get a lot of credit for what they did) were Edward Platt ("Chief" of CONTROL on "Get Smart") and Frank Sutton (Sgt Vince Carter on "Gomer Pyle USMC"). I'm a huge fan of their work on those shows.... it would have been cool to meet them. |
