First of all, keep Gabe Kaplan on all of the fourth season episodes. He co-created the show and made it a success as the star. Also, there would be an episode near the end of the season where the sweathogs finally graduate from Buchanan High. Those possibilities would have merited consideration from ABC to order a fifth season.

Obvious answer, but I'd take away the wretched final season. Erase all memories of Beau, Vinnie as an orderly and restore Gabe as their teacher and have him (and Travolta) be in all of the episodes.

Let's see:

1) Kept Gabe Kaplan.
2) Got him better writers.
3) Kept John Travolta
4) Ended the show while it was still funny.

I would have wanted to see James Komack added as one of the teachers. He could play the kooky type that would have fit right in. As it was, since it was a Komack series, it's surprising that he never had at least a sporadic role that I know of.
