Do you think 'WKRP in Cincinnati' is a classic sitcom or just a former hit show of the late 70's & early 80's that is remembered fondly by its fans?

Classic. It was one of those great shows from the greatest sitcom era ever, IMO...the seventies. Well acted, well written, well everything!!

Well I certainly do remember this show fondly. But I would call it a classic. This show could go from the outright farce of "Turkeys Away" to the drama of "Who is Gordon Sims?" and do it all with aplomb. This was a well written show with interesting and humorous characters played by talented actors and actresses. And that adds up to classic.

A classic for sure, especially considering what else was on during that time.

WKRP had some of the best actors, writers and directors in the business at that time. CBS treated the show like crap - moving it all over their schedule. I guess it wasn't until the show hit syndication that it became a real cult classic.

Classic show.
Extremely strong writing, excellent characterizations, well-acted by a great cast. It even had a good music. This underrated (at the time) show is a must for anybody making a list of Top Ten sitcoms. |

It's a classic for me! I just wish that they would release the remaining episodes on DVD (I can live with the music changes).

It is a classic.
Well written, great characters, very funny and smart. Great ensemble acting as well. When I first searched for episodes of the series back in 2001 I thought I might be disappointed- with pleasant memories prevailing over the actual quality. But it was exactly the opposite. My memories didn't even do the show justice. I was incredibly happy to get to watch the whole series again. It's my alltime favorite sitcom. Now if it was just on DVD-complete and unedited. |

Classic. I just wish that a few tv networks would view it as a classic and show it once in a while.

In my opinion, a definite classic.

Only thing that doomed this show, were the network idiots.

The fact that were still talking about this show (and in such positive terms) almost 30 years after it ended it's original run indicates to me that it is definitely a classic!
