I have never seen soap....... Do you know if it comes on? I have wondered if it is as funny as Three's Company....... Which I know it is not but I am still curious.

MY BAD...It was not Soap in the book, it was Shampoo(has anyone ever heard of this?) that had the girl who looked just like Goldy Hawn. Anyway, They have these full page pic/aricles on all the tv shows from the 70's except Three's Company. Can you believe that? They only got a half a page.

"Soap" was a VERY controversial show that ran from 1977 to 1981 on ABC-TV. It followed "Three's Company" from 1977 to 1978. It had one spinoff, "Benson" which is currently on the Screen Gems Network.

When it premired, some ABC stations REFUSED to carry the show. "Soap" was about a large group of characters. Robert Mandan, Billy Crystal, Katherine Helmond, and others. It was about the soap-operish antics of the Tates and Campbells.

Billy Crystal played Jodie Dallas, a gay man. He was dressed in drag (I believe, I've never seen the show) and was getting a sex change operation when the series began.

Also, one of the characters owned a puppet that was down right RUDE! When one of the characters brought home a lady that was gay, the puppet said something along the lines of: "So, how's life lesbo?"

Now I Hope You See Why This Show Was Very Controversial.

"Soap" does not currently air on any station. The last time it did was on Comedy Central.

Arrow BRING SOAP BACK ON!!!!!!!!

Everyone, we need to get N@N to show at least 2 eps of Soap. I wanna see why they were being compared to each other. What were the similarities between Soap and TC that they were being compared to each other?? Does anyone know??

It was because they were both very controversial with the sexual topics.

BTW, It would be hard for Nick to do this. The episodes pretty much have to be in order for the plot lines to make sense.

I've seen many episodes of Soap on Comedy Central and it is a hoot!!!!

BTW:maria can you stop making everyone jealous?People Magazine's 70s tribute didn't have something on all the 70s shows. It has info on Charlie's Angels,Jeffersons,Flip Wilson,Sanford and Son,Gong Show,Happy Days,Laverne & Shirley,Mork & Mindy and The Odd Couple and pictures of All in the Family and the Brady Bunch.I have this book myself on the cover is John Travolta from his 70s days with pics of Jackie O.,Mary Tyler Moore,Fonzie,Elton John,Cher,Flip Wilson,John Denver and Farrah Fawcett lining the page. And on the back cover is a picture of Charlie's Angels:Farrah,Kate and Jaclyn.Very cool book!

Yes you did say all the shows.
Don't worry I'm not holding a grudge or anything!
Also only two shows have a full page.
