Brooke Shields: Delighted to be part of "Black's Law"...
GEN-TV in January is going to be home to what is expected to be the hottest drama on the dial, the upcoming David Kelley legal drama "Black's Law" starring Brooke Sheilds as Romona Black, a supreme court lawyer who opens up a pro-bono only firm and ruffels feathers in Washington. The drama recently got a 6-episode commitment from GEN-TV and buzz is strong for Sheilds, who many say will be doing the singular best work of her entire career; and that says a lot considering the woman has been working since she was nine years old. Sheilds says she is "delighted to be apart of a series of such quality; and such depth". The series is already generating huge positive notices from critics, who haven't even seen the series yet, but as one insider puts it "Sheilds has worked for so long she's developed a lot of good will in the industry and many want to see her elevated beyond the "Lipstick Jungle" mold into something more substantail, and this could be it". The series debuts on GEN-TV on January 17th at 10pm, when "SNATCHED" goes on a temporary hiatus. "Black's Law" focuses on a pro-bono only law firm that specializes in civil rights, discrimination and immigration cases. It will co-star Billy Campbell, Dermot Mulroney, Emily Rose and other high profile stars yet to be named. ----------- NOTICE: This is fictional and none of these shows are real. this is just for fun. |

A new thread...haha I guess the last one was a bit long.
Tuesday, November 23rd Ratings - YTN The fall finale of Pushing Daisies (Viewers: 5.82 million; 18-49: 2.0/6) was down 0.3 demo points from last week. At 9pm, the season finale of Looking For Love 3 (Viewers: 11.04 million; 18-49: 3.6/9) was up a tad in total viewers and another 0.1 demo points to a season high. The final fifteen minutes of Looking for Love 3 reached 12.96 million viewers and had a 4.0 demo. Rounding out primetime was the fall finale of TAKEN (Viewers: 15.85 million; 18-49: 4.2/10) was up another million viewers and 0.3 demo points to a new series high for the second week in a row. Fan reaction to the three episode storyline which would "change the show forever" are quite positive, so look for more viewers to stick around come January. Night thirty seven of Rock the Night (Viewers: 1.49 million; 18-49: 0.7/2) did fine. Just of note, an encore of Family Guy at 11:30pm was seen by 1.73 million viewers and had a 0.8/3 demo. |

Wednesday, November 24th Ratings - YTN
YTN started the night with the fall finale of Roommates (Viewers: 4.85 million; 18-49: 1.4/5) which sank another 0.2 demo points to a series low on YTN. The fall finale of Kate and Zoe (Viewers: 9.81 million; 18-49: 2.8/7) was down 0.6 demo points to a new series low. At 9pm, the fall finale of College (Viewers: 10.42 million; 18-49: 3.0/8) dropped 1.0 demo points, hitting a season low. The fall finale of Behind the Scenes (Viewers: 9.96 million; 18-49: 2.9/8) dropped 1.1 demo points to a season low. At 10pm, the fall finale of TAKEN: Phoenix (Viewers: 9.03 million; 18-49: 2.6/6) was down 0.5 demo points to a series low. No doubt the holiday travel season put a huge dent in the shows. Night thirty eight of Rock the Night (Viewers: 995,000; 18-49: 0.4/1) hit a series low. Just of note, an encore of Family Guy at 11:30pm was seen by 1.29 million viewers and had a 0.6/2 demo. |

Thursday, November 25th Ratings - YTN
YTN viewers had something to be thankful for last night - the final four episodes of Outburst! The 8pm episode of Outburst! (Viewers: 2.59 million; 18-49: 0.7/2) was up from it's last airing a few weeks ago on Friday. The 9pm episode of Outburst! (Viewers: 2.01 million; 18-49: 0.5/1) sunk to a series low. The 10pm episode of Outburst! (Viewers: 3.48 million; 18-49: 1.1/4) was an episode from season one, and was way up for some reason. The 11pm episode of Outburst! (Viewers: 2.44 million; 18-49: 0.8/2) was down from the 10pm episode, but was above what Rock the Night usually does at 11pm. *With encores airing on YTN through January 2011, only Friday night ratings will be posted.

The cast of this series is shaping up quickly...
Network has just confirmed that they have cast THREE actors on the series; First up, "Once & Again" star Billy Campbell has been cast in a supporting role; as an formerly idealistic lawyer whose recent bout of losses have left him jaded and looking for something to reinvigorate his love the law, so he turns to Ramona who he went to law school with to help him out. They of course have previous romantic history. Next up, Dermot Mulroney (My Best Friends Wedding, The Family Stone) has been cast in the leading role of Carlson Black III, Ramona's ex-husband who is a complicated, oftentimes selfish and othertimes very generous man whose on again off again love affair with Ramona never seems to be close to ending. His role in the series will be an partner in Ramona's new firm which he seems to believe won't survive but surprises him when it lands a high profile client and wins a high profile case previously thought to be unwinnable. He is described as "Dark and Cynnical at times, but generous, caring and loving at other times, a man of many contridictions and complications". Lastly, the network has cast television regular Emily Rose (ER, Jericho, Brothers & Sisters) in a recurring, but potentially regular role as a intern Sara Jenkins who comes with some dark and complicated secrets which will cause serious concerns for the future of Ramona's firm. Network has also confirmed they are in talks with a number of other "high profile talents" for regular and recurring roles on the series. They confirmed this when they also mentioned that talks with Jennifer Grey have fallen apart and she will not appear on the series. The current cast lis is this: Brooke Sheilds as Ramona Hazelton-Black Dermot Mulroney as Carlson Black III Billy Campbell as Victor Goldman Emily Rose as Sarah Jenkins GEN-TV has finalized the cast for "Black's Law" the new David E. Kelley drama series coming in January. Joining the already announced cast of Brooke Shields, Dermot Mulroney, Billy Campbell and Emily Rose are the following cast members... Harry Hamlin, most famous for L.A. Law, but most recently for GEN-TV's "Starting From Scratch" and "Getting Over It" is joining this drama series in an undisclosed role. Also joining the cast are Kerr Smith, most recently from The CW's "Life Unexpected" but most famous for WB's "Dawson's Creek", as a young associate attempting to make a name for himself in all the wrong ways. He is a potential love interest for Emily Rose's character. Also singing up are two veteran performers who will add a lot of legitmacy to the series; first up Ted Danson, most famous for his role on Cheers, but most recently for his Emmy-winning work on "Damages" has signed up as a strict and frankly beligerant judge who crosses paths with Ramona setting off a series of events nobody could have foreseen. Lastly, Rick Schroder, most famous for Silver Spoons and NYPD Blue has joined the cast as a Washington Lobbyist who earns the fury of Ramona when his conservative agenda makes it's way across her desk; sparking off a firestorm in the process. |

Dean Winters who has earned rave reviews this season for his twisted and haunting portrayl of psychopathic killer The Jade Scorpion on "The Huntress" will exit the series at the end of this season; as his character is expected to be killed off. Series Producer Sharon Hillcrest says "Dean has done an incrediable job this season and his work has excelled beyond any expectations. However it's time for this story to come to an end. The twists coming up will set the stage for the heart-stopping season finale in may. That finale will open up endless new story possibilities".
GEN-TV has also announced that the actor has joined the cast of upcoming legal drama "Black's Law" as an ambulance chasing attorney from a competing firm who unexpectedly asks Ramona for help in an odd case. Winters says of the role "It's one of those roles that will keep people guessing until the very end. The way it's being written its very ambigious and you aren't entirely sure if he's totally geunine or if he's just playing a game". "The fun part is that Ramona isn't a fool and can play right along, it's going to be excellent". Black's Law is a new legal drama premiering on GEN-TV in January. |

GEN-TV has unknowingly launched a revolution this year as several of their series have featured the returns of former tv stars in roles that have redefined and reinvograted their careers. It started early this year when Laurie Metcalf, a multiple Emmy-winner for her role on the 80's and 90's sensation "Roseann" launched the successful sitcom "Never Again" which became the only successful member of GEN-TV's Saturday night schedule last season and earned Metcalf yet another Emmy. Due to the success of the series Metcalf earned a major salary boost and a producers credit. Last season GEN-TV's "POSTAL" another successful new sitcom launched and was a rare hit that featured all performers over the age of 40. All the cast members were part of major hits in the 80's and 90's; including Annie Potts who was an 80's movie mainstay in "Pretty In Pink" and the "Ghostbusters" franchise. On TV, she earned praise for her role as interior desinger Mary Jo Shively on the hit sitcom "Desinging Women". Potts has worked steadily since that show left the air in 1993 but hasn't had a role this big in years; she earned critical praise when this show debuted and earned an Emmy for the role; she's only been nominated once before, for "Love & War" a middling sitcom she starred in following the cancellation of "Desinging Women". For William Devane, who starred on "Knot's Landing" this show has reignited a stalled career "I hadn't worked on a quality program in over 10 years and was dying for something with substance, this series was a rare gem". The series stars bonafide movie star Joan Cusack as the postmaster of a rural Vermont post office who oversees an ecletic staff of co-workers.
This season GEN-TV launched one of the most successful sitcoms in recent history in "Over My Head" starring two huge stars of 80's television, Soliel Moon Frye who played spunky, adorable "Punky Brewster" from 1984 until 1988; and hadn't starred on a series since "Sabrina, The Teenage Witch" left the airwaves over 9 years ago. "It has totally turned my career around; it has eclipsed everything else i've ever done". The series is the #1 comedy series on TV right now, quickly surpassing hits like "Two and A Half Men" and "The Big Bang Theory". It reaches over 25 million viewers a week and has earned critical raves for it's ironic take on a family comedy. In the comedy Frye plays Ariel, an magazine editor who is fired when her political magazine is bought from under her and turned into a gossip magazine, which sparks an unfortunate situtation when she acts out against the publisher. unemployable in publishing she is hired by a former high school classmate, Sunny Van Husen, a sunny, perky and endlessly clueless sitcom starlet who is the polar oppositte of Ariel and blindsides Ariel by asking her to be the nanny to her brood of spoiled kids... Sunny is played by Pamela Anderson, who shattered many men's hearts in the 90's on "Baywatch" and made tabloid headlines herself. For Anderson, the road to TV success post "Baywatch" has been tough; she's tried sitcoms ("Stacked" last 12 episodes, and was critically savaged), her E! reality show flopped and she missed out on several big roles; including Susan in "Desperate Housewives" which relaunched Terri Hatchers career. Anderson is a bit more pragmatic about the success of this show simply saying "I'm taking it one day at at a time and enjoying every moment of it". Among the other former stars regaining success on GEN-TV this season are James Caan, Gillian Anderson, Helen Hunt, Sherry Stringfield, Emilio Estevez, Chad Allan and several others. The cast of hit drama "SISTERS" alone is a whos who of 80's and 90's film and television including such big names as Alicia Silverstone ("Clueless"), Elizabeth Rohm ("Law & Order"), Lisa Nicole Carson ("Ally McBeal", "ER"), Ming Na ("ER"), Isiaha Washington ("Grey's Anatomy"), Jere Burns ("Dear John"), Jean Smart ("Desinging Women") and Maura Tierny ("ER"). The series also features two actors who made their career in daytime soap operas but have since found primetime success, a fact that alludes many daytime actors. David Canary worked on "All My Children" since the 1970's and won 9 Emmys for his role as twins Adam and Stuart Chandler but decided to retire from the series earlier this year admist budget cuts, pressure from network brass to take less episode guarentees and a diminished role on the series that he once was the star of. "I started my career on primetime on "Bonanza" and was lucky enough to get a role on daytime in the 70's after being out of work for years, and i'm so lucky to be on a show like this, doing work i couldn't have thought possible a year ago". Maura West, started on daytime in 1997 and has won three Emmy's and was once crowned by Soap Magazines as "Daytime's Best Leading Lady". After her soap opera, "As The World Turns" was cancelled by CBS this year she had a choice "take a role on another soap, which may not be long-lasting or take a chance at primetime". she says "i took a leap of faith and just went for it, luckily it worked out for me this time". GEN-TV seems to have launched a revolution as every network right now is seeking once hot talent for their current crop of pilots. |

GEN-TV aired only reruns last night (Sunday, November 28, 2010) and thus ratings will not re released.
However, the network wants to note that all the episodes aired last night from 8-11pm were reruns of "The Life & Times Of Elizabeth Bordoe". Without releasing the acutal numbers the network says "the ratings were great and we are satisfied". |
