Former 'Cheers' Star George Wendt Misses The Show "Terribly" - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Former CHEERS star GEORGE WENDT still misses working on the hit TV show even though 17 years have passed since the series came to an end.

Wendt played beer-loving Norm Peterson in all 275 episodes of the programme between 1982 and 1993, later reviving his role in a reunion episode of Cheers spin-off Frasier.

The actor admits he misses his days on Cheers "terribly" and even has dreams about being back on set.

He tells the New York Post, "Y'know, I dream about Cheers. Like when you go on a diet and you dream of pizza. I always think of those wonderful years. I loved working on it. Not long ago I had a great dream of laughing in rehearsal - but when I woke up there was no show.

"If I channel surf and it's on TV, I watch. I miss it terribly. My dad keeps a bunch of the old tapes, but I don't watch them. I don't really care to see those oldies over and over."

And Wendt takes some comfort from keeping in touch with his former co-stars Kelsey Grammer and Ted Danson.

He adds, "I stay in touch with the cast. Just saw Kelsey in the Broadway show, La Cage. It was awesome. Ted Danson's in Alaska doing a whale movie. I talk to them all."

Of course he misses Cheers. That was the last time he had steady employment!
