I just saw that the 1976 variety series The Rich Little Show is on M.P.I. 's schedule. It will be a complete series set which lasted for 15 episodes.

That's cool! You don't see many variety shows making it to DVD. I imagine music rights have a lot to do with that. Anyway I really like Rich Little so this will be really fun to see!

...and his variety show was a mid-season replacement (for David McCallum's "THE INVISIBLE MAN") that aired on Mondays at 8pm(et) in early 1976, but it was no match against CBS' combo of "RHODA" and PHYLLIS". Naturally, it featured Rich's various impressions, among the guest stars and production numbers. If NBC had their way, Rich might also have ended up as a guest host on "SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE" during its first season [one executive suggested this to Lorne Michaels in the summer of 1975, before the show began, without realizing it wasn't going to be a "traditional" variety show; Lorne demurred on that idea].

Charlotte Rae was a regular on this show. I'd be interested to see it for her alone. Plus, Susan Saint James. I wonder if they were able to clear all of the music. The Jackson 5 performed in one episode, I think.

yea, I remember he used to be a guest on "THE TONIGHT SHOW" a lot at the time.

I didn't even know Rich Little had his own show.

I did enjoy his guest appearance on The Muppet Show from way back in the day.
