Timothy West, Texting Rapist, Is Actually Acquitted By Queens Jury
Get ready to get mad...really mad.
http://www.truecrimereport.com/2010/..._rapist_is.php By Pete Kotz in Sex crimes, Stupid Criminals Tuesday, Nov. 2 2010 @ 2:52PM 127 comment(s) Share6 0diggsdigg Timothy-West_opt-1.jpg You may recall the tale of Timothy West from our story last month. According to a 21-year-old waitress from Queens, West broke into her house while her brother and mother slept upstairs. Over the next three hours, he raped her twice, drank her liquor, and chatted away... Before West left, he asked the woman for her cell phone number, hoping that they could someday be friends. The woman says West may have felt comfortable because she was compliant during the ordeal, hoping to not rouse her anger, since he twice raped her at knifepoint. After West left, the woman's brother called police. During that 911 call, she could be heard crying in the background. While detectives interviewed the woman, West sent her a text. Under police supervision, she called him back and set up a meet at a Dunkin' Donuts. That's where the cops nabbed our perp. Though West claimed the sex was consensual, it would seem an open and shut case. Especially since he's a career *********. He has a history of break-ins and was on parole for robbery at the time of the assault. But the jury didn't get to hear any of that when he went on trial last week. Still, they were presented with a pretty compelling case that he was a degenerate rapist. On the call taped by police to set up the Dunkin' Donuts meeting, West basically even admitted the assaulting the woman. "You just broke into my house, yo," the woman says on the recording. "I've never seen you before... You try to rob me, then you rape me. Why you did that to me?" "I do apologize from the bottom of my heart," he responded. "You mad at me?" Yet jurors apparently bought West's claims that the sex was consensual. They found him innocent. After the verdict, jurors told the New York Daily News that there was no sign of forced entry, and that meant the woman had to know him, since she let West into her home. Never mind his recorded apology for actually raping the woman. (Special thanks to reader Debbie for the tip.) |
