I don't think they have ever been released in full. I did a Google search a while back and if I remember correctly, all that really came up were posts from this board. I am not certain if the police are still holding them back or what. At this point they feel the case is closed. If they were to release these letters, it could show that the investigation into this case was not as in depth as it should have been. They would look pretty bad if the case were solved and implicated someone other than their only suspect. Especially since he has already been granted parole.

did the police ever state why letters kept coming after the suspect was placed in solitary and the warden stated he could not be sending?? did they ever release the name of the person Ron Gillispie went to "meet"?? is this the same person the family sent letters to??

I know I'd love to see those letters. Especially the first ones.
I'd like to do a little handwriting and linguistics analysis of my own to see what I think about the writer(s). Some of us here, including me, transcribed as much of the letters as we had available to us, which was not much at all, and posted the contents here on the forum. I remember the writer used the word "pig" a lot and also used the term "homebreaker" instead of "homewrecker" which I thought was interesting. IIRC, there were eventually hundreds, if not thousands, of those letters. Some are thought to be copycats, but I don't know if that's the police's official position. Anyone know how many letters there are, if they're still stored away as evidence or something, and if the cops think they're all from the real perp(s)? |

I bumped up the thread called "Circleville Letters -- My Theory and Observations" which has some detailed info about the content of the letters.
