Movie New "Texas Chainsaw 3D" Photos Released

SAW Producer Revs Another Saw: Leatherface 3D
Friday, October 29, 2010
By: MrDisgusting

With the SAW franchise coming to an end, producer Mark Burg will be joining Carl Mazzocone in bringing The Texas Chainsaw Massacre back to theaters.

Word has it that Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures are putting the finishing touches on Debra Sullivan and Adam Marcus' screenplay for Leatherface 3D.

We're told that the plot picks up immediately where Tobe Hooper's original left off before flashing forward 35 years. There's buzz of a "cult" involved.

Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures acquired the rights to Leatherface once Platinum Dunes and New Line Cinema passed on making a second sequel to the 2003 reboot.

Marcus wrote and directed Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday.

Leatherface 3D Stalks a Director
by Alyse Wax
April 19, 2011

Lionsgate is reportedly in talks with director John Lussenhop to bring him on to the next chapter in the Chainsaw Massacre legacy.

Plot details for Leatherface 3D are under wraps, but supposedly it picks up precisely where Tobe Hooper's original Texas Chainsaw Massacre left off, before flashing forward to present day.

Despite this, the flick is meant to be a sequel to the 2003 remake from Platinum Dunes.

Monday, May 9, 2011
By: MrDisgusting

THR confirmed that John Luessenhop (Takers) is in talks to direct Lionsgate's Leatherface 3D, the sequel to the Platinum Dunes produced Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake that was released via New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures.

They add that Carl Mazzocone is producing the movie, which hopes to launch a new franchise featuring Leatherface and his family of cannibals.

Production is set for June.

Debra Sullivan, Adam Marcus and Stephen Susco have turned in drafts the third Chainsaw flick that supposedly picks up immediately where Tobe Hooper's original left off before flashing forward 35 years.

EXCLUSIVE: We've Got the Insane Plot Crunch for Leatherface 3D!
Tuesday, May 10, 2011
By: MrDisgusting

Now that John Luessenhop is nearly attached to direct Leatherface 3D, casting is currently underway for a June shoot in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Penned by Debra Sullivan, Adam Marcus and Stephen Susco, with the most recent drafts by Kirsten Elms and Luessenhop, the seventh incarnation is a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper's classic 1974 film that follows the lead character, Heather, who along with her friends, travel to Texas in order to collect an inheritance.

The spin? What would you do if you found out your cousin was Leatherface, and he was now YOURS? - As explained to me by an insider.

It should also be noted that whomever lands the lead role of "Heather" will be locked in for multiple sequels, along with the town's "Sheriff Hooper," and his trusty sidekicks "Fransworth" and "Deputy Carl Hartman."

It sounds like they're going with the same old song and dance instead of truly attempting something original. But I am intrigued by the concept of Heather "owning" Leatherface.

Hopefully they don't drop that angle and turn it into a horror chase film...

Early Teaser Poster for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D
Source: Shock Till You Drop
May 11, 2011

Nu Image is at the Cannes Film Festival promoting a number of titles including The Expendables 2 and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D.

We've got some early sales artwork for the latter which confirms the film's title (early reports said it would be called Leatherface 3D, which is not the case).

What's interesting here - besides the font use - is that it appears the film is on track for a summer 2012 release. Of course, that could change.

John Luessenhop will direct the film this summer for distributor Lionsgate.

The font makes me think of the poster art from the 60's drive-in flicks like Two Thousand Maniacs.

Bill Moseley Joins New Chainsaw Sequel!
Sunday, June 12, 2011
By: MrDisgusting

The first official casting is in for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D as the beloved Bill Moseley will star as a character named "Drayton", an obvious nod to actor Jim Siedow, who appeared in the first two films, reports Dread Central.

Moseley's big claim to fame was starring as "Chop-Top" in Tobe Hooper's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, before having his career revived as the elusive "Otis" in Rob Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses and it's sequel The Devil's Rejects.

It is to be directed by John Luessenhop this coming June in Shreveport, Louisiana, was penned by Debra Sullivan, Adam Marcus and Stephen Susco, with the most recent drafts by Kirsten Elms and Luessenhop.

The seventh incarnation is a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper's classic 1974 film that follows the lead character, Heather, who along with her friends, travel to Texas in order to collect an inheritance.

Now It's Leatherface and Myers Attacking October 2012
Source: Shock Till You Drop
June 29, 2011

Lionsgate is releasing The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D on October 5, 2012.

The next chapter in the series will now join Dimension Films' Halloween 3D which opens a few weeks later on October 26.

John Luessenhop is directing the new Chainsaw with Carl Mazzocone producing.

"I'm excited to re-conceive this iconic horror classic in a contemporary setting for a new generation of horror fans to enjoy," Mazzocone says in a press release

"Both John Luessenhop and I intend to deliver a new chapter derived from Tobe Hooper's 1973 masterpiece with the goal of making it as horrifying as the original, in 3D."

Bill Moseley is the only actor so far to join the cast. Expect more announcements to come.

Scott Eastwood, the youngest son of actor/director Clint Eastwood, has been set for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D, the John Luessenhop-directed franchise reboot that starts production this week in Louisiana, reports Deadline.

Eastwood will play the role of Carl, the male lead, and the deal calls for him to be part of what is envisioned as a trilogy.

Eastwood has been acting mostly in indies, and recently completed the Charles Burmeister-directed Epic, the Jack Heller-directed Enter Nowhere and the Lawrence Roeck-directed Carmel.

Original Leatherface Returns for Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D!
Friday, July 15, 2011
By: MrDisgusting

Bloody Disgusting has learned exclusively that Gunnar Hansen - best known as Leatherface in Tobe Hooper's original 1974 The Texas Chain Saw Massacre - has landed some sort of role in Lionsgate's latest incarnation.

While we're being told he is NOT recurring his role as the chainsaw wielding slasher, we hear he does have some sort of potential "cameo." The only thing confirmed is that he'll be in the movie.
