Does anyone remember an American Justice episode about a pretty rough family composed of two (?) brothers, maybe some sisters (or maybe even the brothers' wives), and their utter ******* of a father/grandfather (I apologize; the details are very fuzzy) who heaped abuse on the brothers? The thing I remember most clearly is that one or both of them murdered the patriarch and buried his body under a tomato patch.
I know it's confusing, but does anyone else have an inkling of what I'm talking about? It's been racking my brain all day. |

Would this by any chance be the so-called Tomato Patch murder? If so, the murder victim's name was Thurman Martin. He was killed by his grandson Billy Crowder in 1997. You can google those names and/or "tomato patch murder" for more information on the case.

Yup, that one came up in the Thomas Drake thread on the UM page. I feel like Billy Crowder is wrongfully serving a life sentence. I explained what happened on the Drake page as a response to how someone can get less time for murder or manslaughter and yet a life sentence for armed robbery.
